These can all be signs you have unprocessed trauma in your nervous system.

Unhealed trauma is biologically expensive.

When we have unprocessed trauma in our nervous systems, our bodies have to expend a lot of energy to manage even the simplest tasks of our daily life.  Unprocessed trauma also has a significant impact on our physical health and immune system and can manifest in many ways including headaches, GI issues, and sleep disturbances.  Somatic work can help process the trauma in your nervous system, so that you have more energy available to live your life.

Unhealed trauma is relationally expensive.

Unprocessed trauma can also manifest in our relationships.  We might find ourselves doing or saying things that we don’t want to.  It can make us distrustful of others, making it hard to truly connect to a person.  It can also manifest as co-dependence, dysfunctional, or disappointing interactions with friends and family.

Trauma, Stress & Disembodiment

Trauma is any experience that overwhelms our ability to cope. By this definition, most of us on this planet have experienced trauma in our lifetime.

Trauma & stress can leave you feeling disconnected or hyper-vigilant. Disconnection & hyper-vigilance makes it difficult to trust yourself, experience emotion, remain present, or feel safe in your own body.

Even after the trauma & stress is over, traces of the event can remain in the nervous system. This can manifest as physical symptoms, emotional reactivity, negative or intrusive thoughts, anxiety, & depression.
