PSIP SERVICES

Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy

This therapy is a holistic and interactive approach designed to help you resolve old wounds, rediscover your authentic self, and build a stronger connection to life. It’s not just about managing symptoms but transforming how you experience and respond to the world around you.

Why PSIP?

Our nervous system has homeostatic, self-corrective mechanisms that are natural parts of our biology. In the Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) protocol, we are able to access deeply stored trauma and the natural healing mechanisms in the nervous system to create lasting change.

WHAT IS PSIP?

Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) is a specialized, highly relational, highly experiential, embodied somatic therapy designed to leverage the powerful, innate self-healing capacities of the unconscious mind and body.

In the PSIP protocol, when we combine the somatic therapy with the psychedelic substances Delta 8/Medical Marijuana and Ketamine, we are able to access deeply stored trauma and the natural self-corrective, healing mechanisms living in the nervous system more easily.

Unlike traditional therapeutic approaches that may focus on coping strategies, PSIP aims to resolve deep-rooted trauma by engaging the body's innate homeostatic and self-corrective mechanisms.

Benefits of Psychedelic Somatic Therapy

01.

The sessions will help you rediscover a deeper, more authentic, and alive version of yourself—one filled with wonder, curiosity, and awe. It allows you to understand who you are at a core level, beyond superficial masks and coping strategies.

Reconnect With Your True Self

02.

Move Beyond Just Surviving the Day-to-Day

While our logical mind is great for solving problems and managing daily life, it doesn’t help us find deeper meaning or experience joy.  This therapy enables you to connect with your emotions, self, others, and the world in a more meaningful way.

03.

Experience the Mystical Directly

Instead of hearing about spiritual or divine experiences secondhand, this therapy helps you experience them directly, deepening your sense of connection and purpose.

This therapy supports your nervous system’s innate ability to return to homeostasis and develop more regulation and resilience capacity once trauma has been processed.  This helps you remain more grounded and less reactive in difficult situations or when challenging emotions arise.

Find Emotional Balance

05.

Build Resilience for the Future

By addressing past trauma stored in your body and nervous system, you create a stronger foundation for coping with future mental health challenges, reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Unhealed trauma is biologically & relationally expensive.

Psychedelic Somatic work can help process the trauma in your nervous system, so that you have more energy available to live your life.

If you have tried other therapies and still feel stuck, trying Psychedelic Somatic Therapy might be the right fit for you.

Most therapies (CBT, ACT, DBT) focus on management strategies, teaching you skills to manage your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. There is a valuable place for this in helping us learn how to ground, develop resilience, and function day to day.

However, learning these skills and coping strategies typically aren’t enough to help someone resolve their trauma. There are other types of therapies, typically called bottom-up or somatic therapies, that are aimed at trauma reprocessing. Some of these types of therapies include EMDR, ART, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psycotherapy (PSIP).

These new therapies are paving the way in our understanding of how our bodies record trauma and the way this trauma in our bodies impacts our day to day lives. Reprocessing trauma can lead to significant changes in symptoms like anxiety, depression, or relational issues, so that you don’t have to spend so much energy and time managing, coping, and self-medicating.

Facilitates Processing of Unresolved Trauma

PSIP is a comprehensive, medicine-assisted therapy model that involves active interaction between the therapist and client during the sessions. This interactive process facilitates the processing of unresolved trauma, including developmental and attachment-related wounds, by intentionally bringing these issues into the therapeutic space and addressing them in real-time.

Continuous & Mindful Engagement

Distinct from the "sitter model" of psychedelic therapy, where a therapist holds space for the client’s internal experience with minimal interaction, PSIP involves continuous, mindful engagement. This approach helps access and resolve trauma stored in the nervous system, body, and subconscious mind, rewriting past traumatic memories by addressing what was missing or needed during the original experience.

Profound Healing for Core Programming

PSIP is designed to target core programmings we hold in our nervous system from the trauma and difficulties we experienced in childhood and beyond.  This can create opportunities for profound healing, allowing individuals to move beyond merely managing their trauma toward a state of holistic resolution and well-being

Why Ketamine & Delta 8/Medical Marijuana?

Ketamine and Delta 8/Medical Marijuana are both legal to use in the state of Texas and these substances can take you into the altered states and nervous system access that make MDMA and Psilocybin-assisted therapy so effective. Ketamine and Delta 8/Medical Marijuana can even sometimes be more effective for processing relational trauma, developmental trauma, and singular event traumas in the right set and setting.

Delta 8/Medical Marijuana interrupts the management strategies that make accessing trauma living in our nervous systems difficult.  Delta 8/Medical Marijuana is very effective in helping connect you to your autonomic nervous system pathway so that trauma can be more easily accessed and processed.

Oral Ketamine is used to help establish corrective relational experiences and process the trauma that Delta 8/Medical Marijuana gives access to.

What the PSIP treatment process looks like:

The first step is an assessment to determine the best treatment course.  The treatment course can take different directions and lengths depending on your individual needs.  This process is highly personal and highly individualized.  After completing the assessment, most people can expect having 3 PSIP non-medicine sessions before starting the PSIP medicine sessions.  The average number of medicine sessions is usually 8.  We can discuss what the frequency options are in the first session.  As we progress along with the PSIP medicine sessions, we will weave in integration sessions as needed.

FAQ's

Do you provide the medicine for our PSIP sessions?

No, I do not provide any drugs or medication or promote their use without proper assessment and clearance from your medical provider.  Since Delta 8/Medical Marijuana and Ketamine are legal in the state of Texas, you can access it through your medical provider.  If you have questions about this, you can reach out and we can talk more.

Does it matter if I am a recreational Delta 8 or cannabis user?

No it does not, you can still benefit from PSIP therapy even if you are a recreational user.

Do you take insurance?

No, I am not in-network with insurance companies

Do you work with people outside of Texas?

Yes, I do.  I can provide some of the PSIP therapy virtually, however, in some instances it may be better and highly recommended to do the sessions in person.  This will be discussed in the discovery call. If you live outside of Houston, TX and are interested in traveling for the work, we can discuss doing an intensive where we do multiple sessions in a row.
